Question How to use SSL to secure email communication

Answer Using SSL can secure the data communication between your computer and our mail server, it can also bypass the Great Firewall of China.

First, you must install our SSL Certificate:
- download our certificate Here
- unzip the file
- double click the mail-hksx-com.cer file
- click Install Certificate > Next > Next > Finish
* if you are using Windows Vista, you must manually choose to install the certificate in the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"

You will also need to change your email program's settings for the SSL communication:

If you are using Outlook Express 5.x or above
- close all other programs, open Outlook Express
- click Tools > Accounts
- double-click your email account
- click Server tab
- change both incoming and outgoing mail server to "mail.hksx.com"
- tick My server require authentication
- click Advanced tab
- on Outgoing Mail (SMTP), tick My server requires a secured connection (SSL)
- change the SMTP port to 465
- on Incoming Mail (POP3), tick My server requires a secured connection (SSL)
- change the POP3 port to 995
- click OK > Close
- restart Outlook Express
- try to send yourself an email

If you are using Microsoft Outlook XP or 2003:
- close all other programs, open Microsoft Outlook
- click Tools > Accounts
- choose View or change existing email account, click Next
- double-click your email account
- change both incoming and outgoing mail server to "mail.hksx.com"
- click More Settings
- click Outgoing Server tab
- tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- click Advanced tab
- on Outgoing Mail (SMTP), tick My server requires a encrypted connection (SSL)
- change the SMTP port to 465
- on Incoming Mail (POP3), tick My server requires a encrypted connection (SSL)
- change the SMTP port to 995
- click OK > Next > Finish
- restart Microsoft Outlook
- try to send yourself an email
